Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid (BLS)

Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid (BLS), is an entry level first aid course. This course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills needed to provide basic life support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to adult patients with life-threatening injuries, while also activating emergency medical services (EMS). The first-aid section teaches participants how to recognize medical emergencies and traumatic injuries and to provide care while waiting for EMS to arrive.

Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries (EO2)

Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries is a First Aid continuing education course. During this course, participants will become familiar with the signs and symptoms associated with decompression illness and non-fatal drowning and the proper administration of supplemental Oxygen. Proper assembly, disassembly and use of all components found in the DAN Oxygen Unit are included in this course. This course is specifically designed as a lay-provider training to educate participants to recognize diving-related injuries and to properly use emergency oxygen for that purpose.

Neurological Assessment (Neuro)

Neurological Assessment is an entry-level First Aid course. The Neurological Assessment course is designed as a lay-provider training in which participants learn to perform a basic neurological examination as part of the initial first-aid care.

First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries (HMLI)

First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries is an entry-level First Aid course. This course is designed to provide information regarding specific types of injuries causes by marine creatures and the general first aid treatment for those injuries. This course also introduces students to the identification of potentially hazardous marine life as well as how to avoid hazardous marine life injuries.

Diving Emergency Management Provider (DEMP)

Combining the knowledge and skills from four first aid courses, DEMP adds context and streamlines instruction for care that may be necessary in a dive accident.

• There is no certification required to enter this course.
